the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, and the Director of the Postgraduate Studies and Training Department at the University. The primary focus of this session revolved around collaborative mechanisms related to the areas of expertise within the Faculty of Agriculture. It encompassed discussions on knowledge exchange, practical studies implementation, and the utilization of Indonesia’s advanced proficiencies to establish a pisciculture project under the supervision of the Faculty of Agriculture. This project aims to serve as a unique training space for students and as an initial step towards the establishment of pisciculture ventures in Libya. Furthermore, the dialogue session addressed the enhancement of cooperative efforts in postgraduate programs and training within the field of agriculture. Indonesia is globally recognized as a developed nation in the domain of pisciculture, currently ranking as the ninth-largest producer of fish. Reports indicate that fish production has experienced a consistent annual growth rate of 8.5% from 1999 to 2003. As a result, production increased from 4,952 thousand tons in 1999 to 5,961 thousand tons in 2003. It is worth noting that approximately 20% of this production is derived from aquaculture.

The Chargé d’Affairs of the Indonesian Embassy to Libya, Didi Ahmed Al-Rifai, arrived this morning (December 13, 2023) at Sirte University, the visit aimed at holding joint meetings and supporting ways of cooperation between Sirte University and a number of Indonesian universities. Upon his arrival, he was received by the University President and a number of deans of faculties and department directors.

The two parties held a meeting during which an introduction was given about Sirte University, its Faculties, and its postgraduate programs. The Chargé d’Affaires also gave an introduction of a number of universities in Indonesia. Following the meeting, the Chargé d’Affaires, accompanied by The University President, visited a number of Postgraduate study halls and university halls, and also visited the University scientific library, he reviewed the scientific references, He also reviewed the activities of library management and University publications.

It is expected that some meetings will be held during this visit that will strengthen scientific cooperation between Sirte University and universities in Indonesia, in order to invest in scientific development in Indonesian universities and provide opportunities for Libyan students to study there.
