    The Jordan University of Science & Technology (JUST) and Sirte University have come together to establish a mutual agreement by signing a memorandum of understanding.

    On Monday, June 27, 2022, Jordan University of Science & Technology (JUST) , in collaboration with Sirte University in Libya, successfully entered into a MoU in order to establish mutual research and academic cooperation. The memorandum was officially signed by Prof. Ahmed Al-Ajlouni, Vice President of JUST, and Prof. Sulayman Al-Shatir, President of Sirte University. This agreement entails collaboration between the two institutions in various domains such as research endeavors, academic publications, student and staff exchange programs, joint supervision of graduate students, the organization of specialized short-term academic programs, as well as the exchange of academic materials and information. Additionally, both parties will actively participate in workshops and academic meetings spanning a wide range of knowledge areas .

    The signing ceremony was witnessed the by Dr. Ahmed Al-Dweik, Cultural Advisor at the Libyan Embassy, Dr. Al-Tayyeb Mohammed Al-Qobbi, Director of the International Cooperation Office at Sirte University, and Dr. Mahmoud Hammad, Director of the E-Learning and Open Resources Center at JUST. During this occasion, the delegation members took the opportunity to explore various facilities such as the university library, the e-learning center, and the research and teaching halls.

    Signing a Scientific Cooperation Agreement between Sirte University and Amman Arab University in Jordan

    Amman Arab University and Sirte University of Libya have recently entered into a memorandum of understanding, signed on Sunday, June 26, 2022. The objective of this agreement is to enhance scientific and research cooperation between the two institutions and promote collaborative efforts in developing the educational process. The signing ceremony was attended by prominent figures including Dr. Sari Hamdan, President of Amman Arab University, and Dr. Sulayman Alshater, President of Sirte University. The Libyan delegation, comprising Dr. Ahmed Aldweik, the Cultural Attaché at the Libyan Embassy, Vice President of Sirte University, Dr. Altayeb Algubi, and Dr. Anas Al-Saud, Assistant to the President for External Affairs at Amman Arab University, was also present.

    Under the memorandum of Association, the universities have agreed to cooperate in various activities and programs related to joint research, improving the efficiency of research centers, establishing shared supervision in postgraduate programs, and collaborating on joint projects with the European Union through the Erasmus+ program. Furthermore, the agreement encompasses cooperation in global rankings, quality systems, and digital transformation.

    Dr. Sari Hamdan highlighted that the memorandum reflects a shared interest in advancing education and scientific research in both universities, while also emphasizing the importance of strengthening cooperation in research, development, training, and knowledge transfer between the two sides.     A Memorandum of Understanding has been established between the Hashemite University (HU) and Sirte University.

    On June 26, 2022 at 8:30 pm, Sirte University and the Hashemite University of Jordan (HU) have entered into a memorandum of understanding in order to bolster scientific collaboration between the two institutions and collaborate towards the advancement of the educational process. The agreement was officially executed by Dr. Sultan Al-Ma’ani, Vice President of the Hashemite University, and Dr. Sulayman Al-Shatir, President of Sirte University. The signing ceremony was graced by the presence of esteemed members of the Libyan delegation, including Dr. Ahmed Al-Dweik, and Dr. Al-Tayyeb Al-Qobbi, as well as the Jordanian delegation including Dr. Adnan Muqattash, Dr. Mohammed Al-Masha’ala, Dr. Alaa Iftiha, and Mr. Hassan Adam, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

    The memorandum encompasses various aspects of cooperation, including joint planning and execution of scientific research, academic and cultural exchanges, sharing educational and research experiences, organizing scientific seminars and conferences, exchanging students and researchers, and harnessing the universities’ capabilities in developing graduate programs. Furthermore, the MoU entails the exchange of faculty members’ visits, publications, sending final-year students for training courses or field studies, facilitating collaborative efforts among researchers in the medical, applied, and humanitarian sciences, as well as streamlining procedures for admitting students into graduate programs.

    Dr. AL-Ma’ani emphasized that this memorandum signifies a commitment to fostering cooperation in scientific and cultural research, development, training, and knowledge transfer between the two institutions. He highlighted the Hashemite University unwavering dedication to elevating the standards of education and scientific research, while also forging connections for scientific and cultural collaboration with local and regional educational establishments. In turn, Dr. Al-Shatir described the memorandum as a pivotal milestone in advancing scientific and research endeavors between the two universities, commending the esteemed reputation of Hashemite University within the local Jordanian and Arab academic community.

    Official Visit and Discussions between Sirte University and Amman Arab University in Jordan
    On Saturday, Dr. Mohammed Alwadyan, the President of Amman Arab University, welcomed Dr. Sulayman Alshater, the President of Sirte University, to his office. The meeting was attended by Dr. Ahmed Aldweik, the Cultural Attaché at the Libyan Embassy, and Dr. Altayeb Algubi, the Director of the International Cooperation Office at Sirte University. Also present were Professor Jalal Alalam from Amman Arab University, Dr. Ikhlass Altarawneh, the Deputy Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Hussam Alhamad, the Assistant to the President for Planning and Quality Assurance, Dr. Malik Alsarhan, the Director of the International Office and External Relations, Dr. Mohammed Nasar, the Director of the Marketing Department, and Mr. Anas Kasu from the Media and Public Relations Department.
    The discussions during the meeting focused on strategies to enhance collaboration between Amman Arab University and Sirte University. The participants explored opportunities for joint academic and research initiatives and the implementation of various collaborative programs to enrich the educational and learning experience. The primary objective was to establish partnerships that would benefit the academic and teaching processes of both institutions. Dr. Alwadyan took the opportunity to present the stages of Amman Arab University’s establishment, which can be traced back to 1997 when it was founded as a privately funded, nonprofit institution specializing in postgraduate studies. The university commenced its teaching activities in 1999 under the name "Amman Arab University for Graduate Studies," becoming the first Jordanian university dedicated to master’s and doctoral programs. However, in 2009, the university expanded its scope to include undergraduate programs and adopted the name Amman Arab University.
    Dr. Alwadyan underscored the recent inclusion of the university in the Jordanian national qualifications framework as evidence of its educational program excellence and emphasis on practical and research-oriented aspects. He emphasized the university’s ambitious plan to establish itself as a top-tier institution on local, regional, and international scales through exceptional performance across all academic domains. Dr. Alwadyan highlighted the university’s notable progress in various global rankings, which he attributed to the collective efforts of its entire staff. He additionally affirmed the university’s competitive advantage in postgraduate studies among Jordanian universities.
    President of Sirte University, Dr. Sulayman Alshater, expressed his pride and fulfillment as a distinguished graduate of Amman Arab University’s second cohort. He viewed the visit to both universities, which possess an abundance of human resources, as an opportunity to foster collaboration between Amman Arab University and Sirte University, facilitating the transfer of advancements to Libyan universities.
    Dr. Altayeb Algubi emphasized the current era’s reliance on technology and knowledge exchange through diverse electronic platforms.
