The International Cooperation Office at University of Zawia , the Libyan Center for Medical Research, and the Office of Research and Consultation at the Faculty of Economics organised at, Thursday, June 1, 2023, joining an open dialogue for students in scientific excellence at the undergraduate level and master’s students in health care management, on the sidelines of the activities of the scientific symposium “Health Administration: Reality and Aspirations in the Framework of International Partnerships”
This youth dialogue was included on the sidelines of the symposium as a requirement to fulfill the scheduling of joint international projects in the context of engaging students and researchers in various scientific and research activities. Many scientific topics and programs presented in the programs to support scientific excellence at the university were discussed according to the path of international cooperation and scientific research.
The Libyan Center for Medical Research will provide technical support for the students’ research projects. The panel was chaired by the Director of the SAHA project at University of Zawia , the Director of the Libyan Center for Medical Research, and the Director of the Health Care Services Administration Office in the Al-Zawiya Municipal Council.

Today the University of Zawia organised a workshop on Health Management, one of the pillars of the Saha project, to analyse the realities and aspirations within the framework of International Partnership.

In the framework of the partnership, between the Sirte University, and the local and international partner universities in the Erasmus+ projects, funded by the European Union Commission, the University of Sirte has participated in a workshop in the field of vertical training in the innovation project during the period from 14 to 19 May 2023 AD with a group of faculty members at the University. The participants attended project presentations as well as multiple visits to the laboratories of the Bogazici University – Turkey, through which the latest laboratory technologies at the Bogazici University were visited.

From 19 to 23 September, a training week will be held at the University of Pavia as part of the SAHA Project – raiSe libyAn Higher education heAlth sector for the benefit of local society. What does it involve? First of all, the Training aspect of the project is part of section/workpackage number 4, the aim of which is to organise local training and a Study Visit for Libyan staff, with the following introduction of ICT technologies as a tool for interactive education, e-learning, continuous education, Online Training and Virtual mobility. The pursue is to have a group of teachers trained in the new teaching skills. For this reason, four mobility activities for training purposes were organised at the different partner universities with the purpose of training Libyan lecturers and teachers who will form the teaching staff of the teachings built within the SAHA Project (WP2) (type, Business Development, Telemedicine, etc.) within new or existing masters courses in the different partner universities. Indeed each seminar/lesson during the training week corresponds to one teaching.

The first of the four activities organised, for example, took place between 16 and 20 May 2022 at the University of Granada and the second will be held in Pavia.

During these training days in Italy, professors and researchers from the Libyan universities that make up the consortium (University of Tripoli, University of Misurata, University of Sebha, University of Sirte, University of Zawia and the International Medical University of Libya – LIMU) will participate in and develop a programme that combines theoretical and practical sessions, with the addition of external visits to the University of Pavia. The main topics will be health technology assessment, health quality and different case studies on health management in different sectors. Furthermore, a visit to the Emergency Room of the Policlinico San Matteo in Pavia has been organised to show the Pavia field of study and work as well as a visit to the hospital Data Centres. The second one is very important to show the Libyan partners an example of the structure and functioning of what is to be created in Libya at their facilities.

On Monday, June 27, 2022, Jordan University of Science & Technology (JUST) , in collaboration with Sirte University in Libya, successfully entered into a MoU in order to establish mutual research and academic cooperation. The memorandum was officially signed by Prof. Ahmed Al-Ajlouni, Vice President of JUST, and Prof. Sulayman Al-Shatir, President of Sirte University. This agreement entails collaboration between the two institutions in various domains such as research endeavors, academic publications, student and staff exchange programs, joint supervision of graduate students, the organization of specialized short-term academic programs, as well as the exchange of academic materials and information. Additionally, both parties will actively participate in workshops and academic meetings spanning a wide range of knowledge areas .

The signing ceremony was witnessed the by Dr. Ahmed Al-Dweik, Cultural Advisor at the Libyan Embassy, Dr. Al-Tayyeb Mohammed Al-Qobbi, Director of the International Cooperation Office at Sirte University, and Dr. Mahmoud Hammad, Director of the E-Learning and Open Resources Center at JUST. During this occasion, the delegation members took the opportunity to explore various facilities such as the university library, the e-learning center, and the research and teaching halls.

Amman Arab University and Sirte University of Libya have recently entered into a memorandum of understanding, signed on Sunday, June 26, 2022. The objective of this agreement is to enhance scientific and research cooperation between the two institutions and promote collaborative efforts in developing the educational process. The signing ceremony was attended by prominent figures including Dr. Sari Hamdan, President of Amman Arab University, and Dr. Sulayman Alshater, President of Sirte University. The Libyan delegation, comprising Dr. Ahmed Aldweik, the Cultural Attaché at the Libyan Embassy, Vice President of Sirte University, Dr. Altayeb Algubi, and Dr. Anas Al-Saud, Assistant to the President for External Affairs at Amman Arab University, was also present.

Under the memorandum of Association, the universities have agreed to cooperate in various activities and programs related to joint research, improving the efficiency of research centers, establishing shared supervision in postgraduate programs, and collaborating on joint projects with the European Union through the Erasmus+ program. Furthermore, the agreement encompasses cooperation in global rankings, quality systems, and digital transformation.

Dr. Sari Hamdan highlighted that the memorandum reflects a shared interest in advancing education and scientific research in both universities, while also emphasizing the importance of strengthening cooperation in research, development, training, and knowledge transfer between the two sides. Additionally, it aims to establish bridges of scientific collaboration between local and regional educational institutions. Dr. Sulayman Alshater described the memorandum as a groundbreaking step towards progress and advancement in the scientific and research fields between the two universities, commending the esteemed reputation of Amman Arab University.

On June 26, 2022 at 8:30 pm, Sirte University and the Hashemite University of Jordan (HU) have entered into a memorandum of understanding in order to bolster scientific collaboration between the two institutions and collaborate towards the advancement of the educational process. The agreement was officially executed by Dr. Sultan Al-Ma’ani, Vice President of the Hashemite University, and Dr. Sulayman Al-Shatir, President of Sirte University. The signing ceremony was graced by the presence of esteemed members of the Libyan delegation, including Dr. Ahmed Al-Dweik, and Dr. Al-Tayyeb Al-Qobbi, as well as the Jordanian delegation including Dr. Adnan Muqattash, Dr. Mohammed Al-Masha’ala, Dr. Alaa Iftiha, and Mr. Hassan Adam, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

The memorandum encompasses various aspects of cooperation, including joint planning and execution of scientific research, academic and cultural exchanges, sharing educational and research experiences, organizing scientific seminars and conferences, exchanging students and researchers, and harnessing the universities’ capabilities in developing graduate programs. Furthermore, the MoU entails the exchange of faculty members’ visits, publications, sending final-year students for training courses or field studies, facilitating collaborative efforts among researchers in the medical, applied, and humanitarian sciences, as well as streamlining procedures for admitting students into graduate programs.

Dr. AL-Ma’ani emphasized that this memorandum signifies a commitment to fostering cooperation in scientific and cultural research, development, training, and knowledge transfer between the two institutions. He highlighted the Hashemite University unwavering dedication to elevating the standards of education and scientific research, while also forging connections for scientific and cultural collaboration with local and regional educational establishments. In turn, Dr. Al-Shatir described the memorandum as a pivotal milestone in advancing scientific and research endeavors between the two universities, commending the esteemed reputation of Hashemite University within the local Jordanian and Arab academic community.
