Mr. Didi Ahmad Refai, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Indonesian Embassy in Libya, along with Mr. Mukhtar Al-Madani, the Mayor of Sirte, and Dr. Makhlof Hamed, a member of the Sirte Municipal Council, paid a visit to Sirte University today.
The purpose of the visit was to meet with the Vice President for Academic Affairs of Sirte University Prof. Eltayeb Elgobbi, the Secretary General, and several faculty members at the university. The discussions during the meeting involved informative presentations about Indonesia, its universities, as well as the progress made in scientific studies and research. Additionally, there was a presentation specifically focusing on Sirte University. The primary objective of the visit was to explore opportunities for strengthening scientific collaboration between Sirte University and Indonesian universities. It also aimed to underscore the significance of investing in scientific advancements within Indonesian universities and creating opportunities for Libyan students to pursue their studies there.
As a gesture of appreciation for the visit, Sirte University presented its logo and various publications to the delegation.
In his speech, the Chargé d'Affaires emphasized the embassy's keen interest in establishing connections between Sirte University and multiple universities in Indonesia, fostering cooperation in several scientific domains, including postgraduate studies, scientific research, conferences, and seminars.
Furthermore, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Indonesian Embassy in Libya presented a shield from the embassy to Sirte University as a symbol of friendship and collaboration.
