In a landmark ceremony on June 10th, 2024, Sirte University and El Oued University in Algeria solidified their commitment to collaboration through a formal twinning agreement. Professor Sulayman Alshatir, President of Sirte University, and Professor Omar Farhati, Director of El Oued University, signed the protocol, witnessed by prominent figures from both institutions.

In those years, the univeristy has built a domestics reputation and it is now ranking in the 7th place in the National Ranking Scheme.
