The Second International Conference on Engineering Sciences (ICES2024) has officially begun at Sirte University's Wagadougou Hall. Organized by the Faculty of Engineering, the conference's opening session witnessed numerous speeches praising the initiative as a vital platform for fostering scientific research and keeping abreast of the latest advancements across various scientific disciplines. These advancements aim to serve the community, capitalize on valuable experiences, and harness intellectual potential.
The opening session also featured presentations showcasing the university, the Faculty of Engineering, reconstruction efforts in Sirte, and the work of the Ministry of Labor and the Man-Made River Authority, the official sponsors of the conference.
The opening session was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Prof. Sulayman Alshatir President of Sirte University; Dr. Abdullah Arhouma, Minister of Labor in the Libyan government; Mr. Mukhtar Almadani, Mayor of Sirte Municipality; and Mr. Muftah Marzoug, Head of the Council of Sirte Tribes.
Additionally, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, several directors of sectors and agencies in Sirte, deans of faculties, directors of centers, departments, and offices at the university, and numerous engineering specialists were present at the opening session.
In his welcoming address, the President of the University expressed his gratitude to all the supporters of the conference, acknowledging their impactful role in promoting scientific research and applied studies.
The Minister of Labor emphasized the keenness of the Ministry and the Libyan government to participate in and support such scientific gatherings, as they contribute to the educational process in general and bolster the wheel of scientific development in universities and research centers.
The opening session also witnessed the honoring of the conference's supporting entities by the university, as well as the committees overseeing the organization of the conference and the entities that contributed to its success.
