Disciplinary Punishments

The student is punished by suspending  him/her from studying for not less than two academic years if the student commits an act mentioned in Article (28) in the University Regulations, the student is dismissed from his/her study if re-commit.

The student is punished by suspending  him/her from studying for not less than one academic year if the student commits an act mentioned in Article (29) in the University Regulations, the punishment is doubled if the student re-commit.

The student must pay all costs for the damages occur to University premises before the student returns to study.

The student is punished for all violations mentioned in Article (30) as follow:

1- The student is disciplined by suspending her/him from studying for a study period not less than one academic year and not more than two academic years, if the student commits a violation in clause (), the student is dismissed if re-commit.

2- The student is forbidden from sitting all or part of final Examinations if she/he violates clauses () in University Regulations.

3-   Any student violates clause (  ) is punished by cancelling her/his one of Examination results while the disciplinary board can cancel all Examinations for the academic year in which the violation is committed.

4- The student is punished for the violation of clause  (  ) by forbidden him/her from all students rights or may be suspended for a period not more than one academic year. 

 

Academic Admission, Registration and Moving from Faculty to Faculty.

For entry to one of the Faculties of Sirte University, the student need to provide the following:

 1- Secondary School Certificate or Equivalent which recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research Science.

2- Health State Certificate.

3- Achieving the require average grades for the specific Faculty.

4- The student must believe in Libyan Society guidelines.

5- Non-Libyan Students must have Libyan residency for the whole period of study. The non-Libyan student must pay Tuition Fees and living expenses that mentioned in the university Regulations. The students also need to attend and pass an interview where needed.

Types of study Admission and Registration:

1- Fulltime students

2-Parttime students

3- Non-Libyan students  ( accepted and given full Scholarship by the Ministry of High Education and Research Science)

Student can move from Libyan University to another or from non-Libyan University to Libyan University as follow:

1- Student must not be dismissed for academic and disciplinary reasons from the University she/he moving from.

2- Student is obliged to present all relevant documents including detailed academic Transcripts from her/his first University.

There is an academic  panel/committee/board for moving student from University to University. The academic Board must release the results for moving request for students within 45 days from receiving the documents. If the student meet all requirements to move to another Faculty, then the Faculty transfers all relevant documents to the specialized  academic penal at the Ministry of high Education and Research Science. The Faculty or Higher Institute can let the student in question studying before the final completion of the paperworks.

Warning and Dismissal from Study

   

The student receives study warning in the following cases:

1- If the student does not turn up for lectures for no reasons for one whole month at least in the academic year and two weeks in one semester.

2- If the overall average is less than the required minimum average mentioned in the internal Faculty Regulations.

3- If the general average in the academic Semester system is less than the minimum average required.

The student is dismissed from her/his study for the following reasons:

1- If the student is absent without leave for one academic year or two successive semesters.

2- The student is dismissed if her/his overall average is very low (less than 35%) in one of the first two academic year or in two semester from the first four semesters.

3- The student is dismissed if she/he failed in two successive academic years whatever the general average or if the student achieved minimum numbers of study warnings according to the Semester Regularity.

The study stumbling student in the final Semesters may continues studying in order to complete her/his study  after the Ministry  of high Education and Research Science issues a decision regarding that.

The student may continue studying at the same Faculty if she/he pays the full Tuition Fees  which set up by the Ministry of high Education and Research Science.

In all cases, the student is re-appointed to new Faculty or Institute where the average admission is less than the average admission in the Faculty where the student was dismissed from.

The student is dismissed and end her/his rights in free of charge public Education in the following cases:

1- If the student does not turn up for lectures for one academic year or two successive Semesters.

2- If the student is re-appointed to new Faculty and achieved an overall average very low (less than 35%) at the end of the one of the first two years or in two semester from the first four Semesters.

3-  If the student is re-appointed and failed in two successive years whatever the overall average was or if the student gets the minimum numbers of warnings in the Semester Regularity.

4-If the students spent double studying time in her/his subject study in the case of the student that pays Tuition Fees for studying.
