On September 14, 2023, the Council of Sirte University held its first regular meeting of the academic year 2023-2024 in Prof. Mousa Mohamed Mousa Hall, under the guidance of Dr. Sulayman Al-Shatir, the President of the University.

The meeting began with a solemn minute of grief for the victims of the devastating floods in eastern Libya. The Council offered their heartfelt condolences to the grieving families and relatives.

During the meeting, the Council focused on meticulous preparations for the upcoming academic year, focusing on the methodology for enhancing faculty members' study loads and streamlining operations across the diverse faculties and departments. The General Registrar of Derna University expressed gratitude and appreciation for Sirte University's unwavering moral support to the people of the Eastern region. The Council of Sirte University embraced the challenges faced by their fellow Libyans and emphasized their dedication to the pursuit of knowledge and the betterment of their university community.
