An emergency meeting held at Sirte University on October 17, 2023, focused on the role of women in society, their importance in administration and leadership roles, and their ability to succeed in all positions.

The meeting also discussed the recent flood disaster in eastern Libya and the role of women in dealing with natural disasters and mitigating their effects. In attendance were the president of Sirte University, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Director of the Office of Support and Empowerment of Women, and other directors from Libyan universities.
